Kyle picked her up with him as he stood up. He smiled when Wonder walked over, and he set Aren on the big gelding instead. Kyle hoped she could hold on with her injury, and knew Wonder was one of the gentlest horses he knew. Not that he didn't trust her mare, Kyle didn't know her mare. He decided he'd already said too much, and it was time to go back to being the Kyle he knew now. Kyle was leaning against the fence and watched as Wonder waited for her cue to start moving or do what she asked. So far she hadn't attempted to make him move or turn in anyway. Wonder just stood there unmoving and breathing lightly, so she didn't have to work as hard to stay on, as if it were hard to stay on an unmoving horse.
Kyle slid to the ground and allowed his knees to rest just below his face. He was biting his tongue to keep from saying anything. Kyle had messed up today, especially with Aren. He didn't know if she still wanted him around or not, probably not. Kyle wouldn't want himself around with that attitude. He then again hated seeing her cry... Why? Why did he care so much about her opinion and mental state? Because... She's like me. Kyle sighed and looked at his hand, playing with his fingers, it were as if someone had taken his voice away. Aren would probably ignore it, he wouldn't care if she didn't ignore it.

Aren's mood immediately brightened. At last she was back on a horse. Kaitou snorted, unconvinced that Wonder would treat her master as gently as she needed, and was a bit jealous. The girl nudged the gelding gently and he set off at a walk. Her pain was constant but now it was starting to ebb away. Who knew therapy actually worked? She relaxed and let Wonder wander around. Kaitou came up and she rubbed her head as they walked around the pasture. This was what the girl had wanted all along, was that so bad? The mare was still a bit worried, but she seemed happier now that her master's mood had brightened. Though she was still in pain, her pain was lessening now that it was like she was actually walking. She couldn't collapse due to her legs, now. Then again, if she fell, the effects would be worse.
Aren hadn't planned on doing anything other than walking on a horse. Anything more would just worsen the pain. She was taking it slowly for once. She pretty much doubted that she could dismount on her own, but she decided to act upon that later. There was always the fence, too. Wonder was bigger than Kaitou, and he took some getting used to. The girl smiled a little, a real smile. Not one of her fake, strained ones. Now she had one hand on her mare's head and the other wrapped up in Wonder's mane. She didn't want her horse to think that she was choosing a different horse over her. Why she wasn't even on Kaitou, she didn't know. Maybe Kyle didn't trust her mare like she did. Ah well, it sure was a possibility.

Kyle didn't even realize what was happening, the passed it off as hurrying to catch up with Aren. Too bad it was far from that, and he hit the ground. Kyle was fumbling and couldn't quite reach the inhaler in his back pocket. He started coughing, and was trying harder to grasp it. Kyle had one hand at his throat, it was burning and he was fighting for his life the only person within range couldn't help him because she couldn't walk. Maybe this time he would die? Kyle's vision was slightly black by now, and he finally grabbed the inhaler. He fumbled again trying quickly to get it to his mouth. Kyle finally succeeded in doing so, but he was still coughing.
He was on his knees and kinda had his head hanging, trying to keep his breathing even to no avail. Kyle reached for the fence and pulled himself up, hoping she hadn't seen a thing. He hated it, he didn't feel normal although he knew he wasn't alone. Kyle would be needing to find the other ones he kept at home, or at least get a new one for the stables. He was leaning on the fence post, wiping some of the sweat from his face. Kyle scared himself this time, he'd have to be more careful. But having this thrown at you wasn't exactly easy to deal with. It was later in his life so he wasn't used to relying on this small object to save his life.

Aren had been about to help Kyle, but she knew that by the time she reached him it'd be too late. Wonder started acting up, apparentally sensing his owner's asthma before Kyle knew it himself. He pranced anxiously and snorted. The girl wrapped both hands in the gelding's mane and her legs tensed. Kaitou snorted, too, as Wonder automatically started towards his master at a trot. Aren tried her best to keep from bouncing, but she could only sit so deeply without hurting herself. W-w-woah t-there, she managed to say, though her voice was shaky from all the bouncing around. She automatically pulled on the horse's mane like reins, but he was determined. Riding like this was uncomfortably painful, and she winced every step. It wasn't a mind tearing pain like running, but it was still pretty damn hurtful.
By the time they reached the fence Kyle was standing up again, though he looked pretty bad. Aren sighed in relief when Wonder finally stopped trotting, though Kyle looked like he was in more pain than she was. You should've taken those pills today, she said. She sounded like Luna's mom. Aren shivered, she didn't need to act like a mom so early, now did she? She untangled her fingers from Wonder's mane and patted his neck. Her mare was right beside her, mostly waiting for her to get on. The girl patted her mare and wondered if Kyle would get all pissed off if she switched horses. She wouldn't even have to dismount all the way, she had her own way of switching horses that her mare was aware of. She had done it many times so it came easy to her.

Kyle simply shrugged, annoyed with Wonder's behavior. He didn't feel like saying anything so he didn't. Kyle seemed to stare blankly at Aren. He blinked a few times before resting his head on the post behind him. Kyle wanted to say something but thought better, and kept his mouth shut again, biting his tongue harder each time he felt the urge to speak. He opened his eyes and sat down again, he began pulling at the strands of grass, running them through his fingers. Kyle looked up to see Wonder lay down, hoping this was what Aren wanted, maybe she wanted down. Who knows. Kyle didn't care if Aren went to ride Kaitou, it was her mare after all.
Wonder sighed as if mimicking Kyle. He lazily closed his eyes, hoping Aren would choose to dismount so he could lay down and sleep. Kyle should have smiled, but he didn't. No point was there? He messed up today, and that was bugging him. Kyle couldn't bring himself to say anything about it. He wiped some more of the sweat from his face. Today was fairly hot, not really in the ninety's yet. Kyle looked at her legs again, they still looked pretty bad, but he shook his head. As if trying to snap himself out of some bad dream. Kyle wished today was all just a dream. He'd wake up and Aren would be fine, the fight between them had been in his head and they would be riding their horses. At least Kyle knew she probably would. Too bad he wasn't dreaming.

Aren was a little startled when Wonder laid down. She was awfully jittery and jumpy today. Kaitou lowered her head and allowed the girl to hold onto her as she pulled up, taking her master with her. Aren stood, slightly wobbly, as her mare lowered herself, allowing her to get on. Once on, the mare snorted happily and set off at a smooth walk, making an effort to get as far away from Wonder as possible. Aren couldn't help but laugh at her horse's behaviour. She didn't take too kindly to her riding other horses, especially when they put her in pain. The girl smiled and leaned on the mare's neck lazily, her hands absently stroking the mare's smooth chestnut coat. She sighed, as well as her horse did. Her mare knew exactly what she wanted, as well as what she needed. Right now, she needed to relax.
Kaitou stretched her neck and nudged her master's leg. It's okay, I'll heal and be back and better than ever, Aren promised, rubbing her mare's head. Her mare's gates were so smooth she could easily fall asleep. In fact she closed her eyes and let her mind wander. It was a beautiful day still, and she could ride like this for a long time before she started to get stiff. She wished she had some music to listen to. She recalled the ipod that was in her stable bag. Luna's mom had gotten it for her for her last birthday. She had a few songs of her favorite songs on it, and wished she had remembered to bring it out with her when she came out this morning. She yawned and recalled some of the tunes from her memory. She involuntarily started humming them. Not as good as an actual ipod but it would do for now. Perhaps she had suffered brain damage after all? She let the thought go as her mind wandered off.

Kyle couldn't help but hear the words she spoke. The made him slightly pissed that he'd chosen today to fight with her. He just made everything worse like he always did. Maybe Mike was right... I'm just a major screw up... Kyle didn't realize he'd spoken that aloud, so he wouldn't have known if Aren heard him or not. He sighed and looked at his horse who was now laying down beside him. Wonder was an odd fellow, following Kyle around like a lost puppy most the time. That's only when he wanted something, like a ride or treats or something along those lines. He though seemed to be acting oddly today, not the usual puppy dog, more clingy. Maybe Wonder knew what happened? No that was ridiculous... Or was it?
Kyle shook his head, thinking in circles was giving him a headache. He stood up leaning on the fence, watching Aren ride Kaitou painfully. Kyle had to look away, gaze out across the rest of the land that the stables had. It was fairly beautiful and green considering the weather, not just today but the past week. Kyle thought the weather was a little loopy, then again he came from another state. More like 4 states away from here. He sighed again, watching the other horses dance across the vicinity, so free not tied down by human emotions and drama. Kyle thought it would be nice for just once to do something, without a care or concern. He didn't want to be an animal, but wished things were simpler, much like they had it. All they had to think or worry about was, food, water, shelter, and passing their genes. Pretty simple, not complicated, not like humans.

Surprisingly enough, Aren did in fact nod off in her odd position. She was laying on her mare's neck with her fingers entangled in the horse's mane. She dreamed she could fly and had big beautiful wings. The motions were induced by the lulling gate of Kaitou's walk back in reality. Everything felt so peaceful at that moment, at least to the horse and girl. In the back of her mind the girl felt the ever present pain in her sides, and now her back. It wasn't enough to rouse her from her stress-induced sleep, but it did keep her from sinking too deeply. Whenever she moved, or her body weight shifted ever so slightly, her chestnut mare would shift her master back. She did not want the girl to suffer any more than she was currently.
Aren fully woke when Kaitou tripped and jousled her awake. The girl sat up and yawned. She patted her mare sleepily, You alright, girl? she asked. The mare just snorted and switched direction so that she was headed towards the fence. Aren's back was stiff and her neck hurt, too, but she barely noticed it, nevertheless acknowledge it. Her mare was getting bored with walking around. She sighed and flicked her tail. Aren, being stubborn, didn't want to be put down just yet. She felt childish by acting like this, but she didn't want to go back down onto the ground, where everything was ten times worse than on her mare. She nudged Kaitou away from the fence, though knew better than to try and get her to quicken her pace. She already knew that she couldn't handle much more than walking at the moment.
