Kyle hurried to room 412 hoping she could keep up. He continued the pace even though it hurt to move. Kyle placed the key in his lock and was tackled by his Beagle who was wagging her tail happily. He groaned when he hit the ground and the dog jumped off him and stopped wagging her tail, cocking her head to the side at the girl and ducks as well as her owners pain. Kyle got up quickly and offered Aren to go inside with the ducks, he needed to get Dixie out to use the bathroom. Make yourself at home, pretty cool you live here too. I don't care what you do I need to go outside with this dog so she doesn't use the hallway as the bathroom and get me kicked out. He spoke softly trying to mask the pain. Kyle wasn't rude either, she could do as she liked in his apartment, he wasn't a total ass.
Kyle headed down the hallway with Dixie close at his heels as he made his way to the stairwell. He and Dixie ran down the steps his dog taking three steps at a time. Kyle and Dixie reached the bottom in no time and he let her out standing underneath a balcony as his dog finished her business. He walked back in with the dog who started up the stairs and Kyle slipped on the hard floor. It was tile and slippery when wet. He groaned again he was getting hurt everywhere tonight. Kyle got up again and quickly got up to the fourth floor and back to the apartment. He opened the door and walked in after his dog. Kyle locked the door and hit the couch. He felt like crap and was having some trouble breathing again so he used his inhaler though it didn't help much. Dixie wildly jumped on Aren and tried to give the ducks a bath. She even ran to get a towel and came parading out of Kyle's room with it.

Kyle seemed to be getting hit everywhere today, Aren thought. She laughed as Dixie the Beagle jumped around her trying to see the ducks, who were quacking delightedly. The girl stepped into the apartment and took a look around while Kyle took Dixie outside. She looked up from the picture she was looking at when the Beagle came bounding over to her. She giggled and got down on her knees to pet the Beagle. Dixie licked her face before she tried to give the ducks a bath. Bubbles and Fuzz quacked and jumped out of Aren's lap so they could play with their new friend. The ducks even started pecking at the towel Dixie brought out. Through all the fun, she managed to keep her ducks from quacking.
The girl looked up from the pets and saw Kyle, who looked like crap. You must feel terrible, she suggested. She didn't want to be rude by saying he looked like crap, so she rephrased her words. She still kinda felt bad for the guy, to have to live with such a loser as a step-dad must've been pretty dang frustrating. She could put up with it for a little while, but sooner or later she'd snap and hit him or something. Aren was surprised by her own violent thoughts, usually it was Luna who was the violent one. She wondered why Kyle didn't take any painkillers, something really strong at that. Her eyelids were getting heavy, but she wasn't ready to sleep yet.

Kyle nodded and sat up watching Aren the ducks and Dixie. Yup I also just fell down again when I let Dixie in. I hate Tile its slippery. I don't mind rain just wet tile. He felt like crap and probably looked like hell. Kyle didn't even think of painkillers knowing it'd take them forever to work. He figured out though that the blur wasn't just from the rain, even as Aren sat still she looked fairly blurry. Kyle rubbed his eyes and it was still there. He sighed and got up walking to the bathroom and looking in the mirror. Kyle cleaned up, he was now looking at a pale energy drained face. He lifted his shirt seeing a massive bruise where he'd hit the wheel. It was almost black, which probably wasn't a good sign.
Kyle walked back out now his hair was dry and he looked even more sickly after being cleaned up. He hated that. Kyle should be used to crap like this. Maybe he should ask Aren if she knows anything about first aid? It couldn't hurt could it? Hey Aren... Do you know anything about first aid? Kyle hoped she did so maybe she could offer a suggestion on what to do about everything. He had a massive blackish bruise in his stomach and some on his back. A few on his collar bone and various scratches. Kyle walked back over to the sofa and sat down offering Aren a spot as he leaned into the sofa arm.

Aren winced in sympathy. Kyle sure did fall a lot. When Kyle went to the bathroom she yawned and rubbed her eyes. Why was she so tired, anyway? Her braid was hurting her head so she undid it and let her hair fall free. Her scalp hurt from having a brain in all day. Her hair was still damp and all curly from the braid, and it was a darker color from the water. She wrapped the big rubber band she used for her hair on her wrist. It wasn't tight enough to cut of her circulation or anything like that. The ducks were squirming underneath the towel Dixie had laid over them, and it was pretty funny to look at. She smiled and nudged her one of them and yelped quietly when it bit her. The dog was nosing them but wasn't getting bit. It was unfair, the girl thought. She ran her fingers through her damp hair to try and dry it out better.
When Kyle came out asking if she knew First Aid, she expected the worst. I know a bit about it, she said and got to her feet. She staggered a little, but regained her balance. She'd never been so sleepy before, and her balance was off, though she looked wide awake on the outside. She sat down on the couch, not worrying about getting it wet now, she was too tired to care by now. She knew the basics of First Aid from health class and new a bit about treating bruises and of course, CPR. Of course, painkillers usually did the job with the pain, but Kyle didn't seem to use them. She wondered what Kyle needed.

Kyle nodded and took note of how tired she really was. He was the same way, looked wide awake on the outside but was run down inside. Kyle stood up and lifted his shirt so she could see the bruise and how dark and black it seemed to be. He already knew that wasn't a good sign. Uh is this something I need medical attention for? Kyle let his shirt fall after a few minutes. He was almost embarrassed to show her it. Kyle was a seemingly modest person and not one to try and strip and go for the girl. He wasn't a total ass. Kyle went to the couch and sat down again. Kyle couldn't deny that just about everything hurt, and he felt totally helpless and weak. He hated that feeling. Kyle only explained it as worthelss... He felt that way it seemed.
Kyle tried to distract himself from his thoughts by watching Dixie play with the ducks. She'd bring toys over and pile them near the ducks, cover them with the towel and try giving them a bath. Dixie even tried getting them to swim in her bowl and eat her food. That dog had some serious mental issues, funny mental issues though. Kyle was glad he rescued her from a pound in Kentucky, the dog was a perfect match for him. He rested his head in his hand and waited for Aren to say something, not that he was worried. Kyle didn't feel like going to the hospital tonight.

Aren frowned, trying to remember her Health classes. I think just some ice for now, but you should get it checked by a doctor sometime soon just to be safe, she said. Ie always worked for bruises, but for one so black she'd check it out with a doctor, it could mean internal damage. She looked at her ducks who were currently chasing Dixie's tail as she wagged it. Dixie was chasing them as they chased her tail so it was really just one big circle. She had to smile at them. Nothing ever seemed to get them down for very long. She sighed and leaned back against the back of the couch, watching the dog and the ducks chase each other around. It made her dizzy just watching them.
Before she knew it her eyes were closing and she was slipping under. Luckily she didn't snore when she was asleep, or talk or sleep walk. She was passed out in minutes, in a dreamless sleep. Her mind was too exhausted to imagine up dreams. She had had a long day, from her long drive to unpacking Kaitou's things at the stables. Plus she had had a late night the day before due to packing and getting everything ready. She was more or less a peaceful sleeper, but the faintest of noises could wake her up, even when she was exhausted. Being a light sleeper more or less was from staying awake when she was a little girl in order to be awake whenever her parents got home so that she could be with them.

Kyle watched the animals playing and was glad to see Dixie carefully pick them up and put them in her bed before joining them. He looked back to see Aren sleeping and thought to grab her a blanket. Kyle got up quietly, not knowing if she was a light or heavy sleeper. He walked into his room and grabbed an extra comforter, ghosting about the apartment before reaching the couch again quietly. Kyle covered up Aren and then went back to grab his blanket. He was surprised that his vision was starting to have small black dots but shrugged it off. Kyle shut off the lights and found the blanket on the floor. He couldn't hold himself up, whether from exhaustion or just everything that happened. Kyle's entire vision went black despite the streetlights shining in to the apartment.
He hit the ground without feeling it, and lay there not moving. Kyle's breathing was shallow but easy, not able to tell whether he was asleep or just passed out. He lay on the blanket perfectly, on the soft carpet with no pillow. Kyle had a relaxed look on his face, peaceful almost. He didn't feel any of the soreness he felt when he was awake. Kyle though hadn't realized in his haze he'd said a few things. Someone? Where am I? He muttered his voice was like hearing someone talk while you were underwater. Kyle didn't feel the pain but it was there. He was numb, and thankful for it. Kyle only hoped that he didn't wake Aren up with his muttering.

Fuzz and Bubbles fell asleep curled up next to Dixie, like they often did with the dogs back home. They dreamed duck related dreams that humans had no idea about. Aren woke up suddenly a little while later when Bubbles let out a particularly loud quack in her sleep. She yawned and rubbed her eyes to clear her groggy vision. Kyle was passed out on the floor and her ducks were curled up with Dixie. All was well, obviously. She yawned again and laid down on the couch in a more comfortable position. She had noticed the blanket but passed out before she could think anything of it. She only hoped that her ducks didn't wake up and start walking around like they had a tendency to do. However, the ducks were pretty much going to stay put the entire night.
This time Aren did dream. She was on a trail ride by herself on Kaitou. Her horse was galloping away from something, and her ears were pinned back. She didn't know what they were running away from or where she was exactly. She heard a roar and looked behind her. Immediately she knew she was dreaming. A big tiger was chasing them. It was pretty dang fast for such a big cat. The trail branched off and Aren turned her horse at the last minute. She actually laughed when the tiger crashed into a tree. Her dream self wondered why she was having such a weird dream. A herd of wild horses came crashing through the undergrowth of the surrounding forest and started kicking the near dead tiger. The dream stopped when the tiger leaped up at her and she woke up, startled. I must be going crazy, she muttered to herself and tried to get back to sleep.

Kyle shot upright at the sudden urge his stomach sent. He shot up to his feet and ran to the kitchen knocking over the dog water and food. Kyle stood over the sink for a few minutes before looking at the sink which now had blood at the bottom. He started to panic, something was wrong but should he let anyone know? Kyle began to wonder if he would simply go to sleep tonight and not wake up in the morning. He didn't want to wake Aren up though so he just stood leaning against the counter. Kyle's head was hanging and he saw the complexion of his skin was sheet white. He should've gone to the hospital but it was too late now. Kyle couldn't drive and didn't want to call an ambulance.
He slid to the ground against the cabinets. The puddle of watery dog food didn't reach him and didn't look like it would. Kyle had one knee up in the air and the other to the side. His foot leaning on the one that was sideways as he held one arm on his knee. Kyle had the other across his mid section below his heart and just a little above his stomach. He felt like crap but was more worried about letting Aren sleep than he was about himself. Kyle decided to just go to the hospital in the morning, if he could make it there himself. Ah I'll call if i have to He hadn't even realized the crash of bowls was loud until he saw Dixie standing there looking at him sleepily and worriedly.

Aren shot up as she woke up for the 3rd time that night. She had heard a crash coming from the kitchen. She noticed that Dixie wasn't in her bed. She got to her feet and made it into the kitchen and turned on the light. She saw Kyle on the floor, looking white as a sheet, and something red was in the sink. Her face paled but she refrained from completely freaking out. Come on, we have to get you to the hospital, where are your keys? she said as she sidestepped the puddle of soggy dog food to reach Kyle. Can you stand? she asked, trying to control herself. The ducks were awake but were still in Dixie's bed. She reached down a hand to help Kyle up. She was really worried now.
Mostly Aren had a few ideas of what had happened. Kyle had probably broken a rib or something like that. She hoped it wasn't something worse, like his rib pierced a lung or something. With every thought her panic was starting to rise. Dixie was starting to whine, sensing her owner's emotions. The girl knew she should've made Kyle go to the doctor's. This was a whole lot worse than just a big bruise. She blamed herself for not recognizing it earlier, a bruise that colored surely meant something bad. She hoped nothing was seriously wrong with him. She should probably just call an ambulance, but it would be faster if she just drove him their. No one wanted to be in a car with her when she was late, though she had never been in an accident.

Kyle looked up almost startled to see her standing there. He handed her the keys and got up silently, the hospital was the last place he wanted to be but it was definitely needed. Kyle knew they'd probably put him on extra medication like anti depressants. Another thing he didn't want. He shrugged off the thoughts and followed Aren out the door. I don't know why I need to go, but i'm not gunna fight you. Sorry I woke you up. Kyle frowned that was what he was most worried about. After all if she was new she needed sleep. Kyle know he did, after getting here that day and being in an accident it was almost too much and he wished for the thing he took comfort in many times.
He hoped the animals would be fine, knowing Dixie would take care of the ducks seemed to put him at ease. Kyle easily followed Aren down the four flights of stairs nodding a hello to his landlord who looked rather worried and annoyed that he was up so late wandering the complex. Once they reached the bottom of the flights Kyle opened the door for Aren even though it made everything hurt more. Thankfully the rain stopped and he could see his truck. The roads didn't even look wet. Kyle walked slightly fast to reach the car. Though he had to wait for her to open the doors for him. Being as in unlocking it. He surpressed another urge to do what he'd done in the apartment. Kyle felt like he was getting paler every minute, exhaustion was kicking in again as he leaned against the car.

Aren made sure that Kyle was in the car before she got in. She closed her door and strapped herself in before she put the key into the ignition. You should worry about yourself more than me, you know, she said as she backed out and pulled out onto the main road. She had memorized the route to the hospital when she had drove in. She was very concerned now. She knew her ducks would be fine, but she was more worried about Kyle. He was getting very pale and she couldn't help him in any way. Painkillers would do nothing now, nor would ice. She turned down another road that would lead to the hospital, and she was driving rather quickly, she was just thankful that there were no cops around.
Aren sighed, she wanted sleep. But it was against her nature to put herself before others. She rubbed her eyes with one hand and concentrated on her driving so that she didn't get them into another accident. Luck was against her, it seemed. She got all the red lights when there were no other cars on the freaking rode. She was getting pretty pissed off then. She was clenching the wheel so tight her knuckles were white. It was from being so frustrated and worried at the same time. She pushed her hair out of her eyes and tucked it behind her ear, wishing she hadn't taken out her braid now. When she hit the third red light she sped right through it. There were no other cars, so she didn't worry about an accident. After what seemed like forever she reached the hospital and drove around the the EC Unit, or emergency care.

Kyle watched as she drove, obviously getting pissed and frustrated. He was wondering why she seemed like she knew him forever. Kyle didn't mind that it was kinda nice to have someone worry or care about you but they wouldn't say anything about it. He was kinda glad she demanded him to go to the hospital. Kyle was sure it was a demand more like "you can't say no I'm taking you whether you want to go or not." kind of thing. Meh, that's not really me. I tend to worry about my friends more than myself. Then again I also don't talk much so I guess your lucky I'm talking? He was trying to make her smile even though they were walking into the E.C unit. Kyle received glances from nurses and hospital staff who seemed to notice his ghost white appearance.
He blinked at them as a few rushed around trying to get things together. They probably knew he was the one who needed medical attention, judging his complexion. Kyle sighed and looked at Aren, this was the last place on earth he wanted to be. I really don't want to be here. I hate those looks. He practically growled the last statement. Knowing they may or may not have his history and thinking he might have done something again. Kyle though was still fatigued and slid to the floor before they got everything ready. He held himself up by his hands and his chin was touching his chest. Kyle was about ready to pass out again.

Geez why does that sound so familiar? Aren thought to herself sarcastically. Some people needed people to take care of them because they were to stubborn to worry other people. Like her, for example. Most of the time she was cared for by her friend if her situation got really bad, but that probably wouldn't happen now that they had separate lives. Well that's too bad because these are the only people who can help you at the moment. she sighed. The nurses already knew that he needed help and were gathering things up and talking to doctors. She wished they would hurry up. For all she knew Kyle could be dying. She shook her head, surprised by her own bitterness.
Aren leaned down and hooked one arm under his and pulled him up. Please please don't pass out, they're almost here! she pleaded. A nurse rolled over a gurney for Kyle to lie down on. When he did the nurse rolled him away. She was about to follow them when another nurse said, I'm sorry, but you have to wait here. She frowned and sat down in an open chair impatiently. She tried to review in her head what the doctors would do. They would check Kyle's information and background, check his injuries, do an X-ray, and make a diagnosis and then, hopefully, fix it. She sighed and leaned her head back against the wall. She hoped Kyle would be ok, he seemed to really hate hospitals. Aren stared up at the hospital lights and closed her eyes. If only she hadn't stopped at the damn red lights!

Kyle was bombarded with tests, X-rays, Cat scans, MRI's, blood samples. Just about everything to make sure they can proceed. He closed his eyes wishing it would just end. Kyle wished he was more careful driving and had come earlier so he could be home sleeping now. He got tired of waiting and eventually started counting to see how high he could get before they came to tell him what was wrong. Kyle lay there for what seemed like an eternity before they finally entered. Well.. Kyle you have some internal bleeding, and other than that your okay. We'll just take care of that now and send you home.
Kyle sighed as the hooked up yet another machine he had not clue what it did. He just waited for the loud humming noise to stop and seemingly a few more injections. They soon sent Kyle out into the waiting room to be discharged. He was totally numb and couldn't feel a thing, probably the morphine or something. Kyle looked at the clock which told him they'd been here for near three hours. He saw as one of the nurses walked over to Aren to speak to her. Aren can you make sure Kyle takes a medication everyday? That is if you two will see eachother everyday. Just take them with you if need be, his parents have been billed already so don't worry about it. He only had to guess they were either antibiotics or anti depressants.
Kyle walked over to Aren with a defeated look on his face. He hoped it was only antibiotics. I hate hospitals. I hate the staff. Kyle wasn't looking all too pale anymore though he still had a massive black bruise. He was looking forward to getting back home and sleeping on the floor... yes sleeping on the floor. Listen I'm really sorry about everything. This whole stupid mess is my fault. Kyle walked slowly to keep up with Aren, he was to lazy to walk any faster than her pace anyway.
