Skylar Jason Frieathy Skye drove into a parking lot to a new place..Somewhere that is supposed to give him change. His mother sent him off, to go " rule the world" she put it. Now that he thought about it he smiled. He loved his mother. He was gone now though. He left the sleepy state of Alabama to come here. He parked his rusty blue pickup truck. It made a strange clunk sound as he turned it off. Skye got out and patted it's hood. Oh girly, you just keep on runnin' His accent pronounced. He turned his head to the trailer behind the old truck. The trailer looked better then the truck. It held its pride and joy in it though. His middle aged horse Tango. He walked forward to the back of his pickup. A humongous yellow lab jumped up and licked his face. Blanco, Blanco! settle down bud.. He chuckled and untied his dog. He grabbed the lead rope from the back as well. Walking to the end of the trailer undoing the doors, letting the ramp down. There stood the magnificent buckskin stallion. Well, soon to be gelding. He was getting gelded today. Tango nickered as Skye walked in. He attached the lead rope and backed him out. Tango looked at all the new sites. He soon settled down though. Looking to the hyperactive dog beside his owner. Skye smiled and lead him to a stall with his name plate on it. He put him in there. Everything was good. He smiled.
He patted Tango then looked around. He wanted a ride..He walked back to the truck. Letting Blanco off the leash. He would stay beside him. Sure enough her did. He reached his trailer and grabbed one of the two western saddles he had. He grabbed the pleasure saddle. He grabbed his bridle with the snaffle bit and walked out to wards the stall. He started brushing him. He went off daydreaming about his old home. His old friends. Why did his mom send him here? He had no chance of making friends. Oh yeah and living a successful life. Other then earning his wage as a reiner. Well, he did do very well and a lot of prize money was awarded. But still. He continued to brush Tango. He looked to his perfectly clean saddle. He put the saddle pad on the lifted the saddle onto Tango's back. He wished right now a person would come and say hi. Then he might just have a chance..

( A N N A B E L ) This was it. This was Riverglass Ranch.
Annie couldn't help but to feel slightly disappointed. This was glamorous? This was the sport of kings? This place smelled like crap! The blonde wrinkled her nose and looked out of the car window, wondering if she was going to get some sort of special welcome. Obviously not.
The car pulled around in the driveway, and her mom turned to the backseat to smile at Annie. She returned the smile, just for show, then thanked her mother for the drive, grabbed her hot pink purse, and hopped out of the red, shiny car. It sure did stand out among the other vehicles.
After watching her mother drive away with a sort of wistful look in her eyes, the girl fingered the phone in her pocket for reassurance, straightened her black and white t-shirt (which had a picture of Tinkerbell towards the bottom right corner, of course), making sure it hadn't bunched up anywhere during their ride to the stables, and strode forward, towards the source of the reeking scent. It would take her a while to get used to that.
As she walked on, she looked around her. Green fields, barns, a forest for whatever behind the buildings, fenced-in horses... It really was like nowhere else she'd ever been. But still, it was so different. Would she even like it here? Would learning to ride bring her even more popularity, like she was hoping?
Well, Annie was about to find out. She walked through a room with a glass wall, and then she was standing in a long hall with horses all around her.
Eyes widening slightly, she darted to the left when a giant-looking horses tried to sniff her, then jumped right back to the center once another equine shot her an angry look for banging against their stall. God, horses were scary! Annie's heart thudded quickly, and she had to take a few deep breathes until she could fast-walk her way over to the nearest human. He looked like he knew what he was doing here. Her hand lifted and her fingers quickly drummed back and forth through the air in a wave.
"Hello, there!" she greeted, her teeth showing in one of her famous too-cute smiles, but she was a bit out of breathe. Quickly, her hand came down from the wave to smooth her hair. "I'm Annie. 'New here." She looked through the stall bars, at the horse that didn't look quite as intimidating as the other equines. It still looked like it could kill her, though.

I woke up twenty minuets late, I got out of bed, hopped in the shower and got ready. Today was not going to be my best looking day but I still looked good. I grabbed my cell phone and purse and went down stairs and let the dogs out, hurry up you two we got to go. I closed the door heated up some water and put some tea into it, I closed my coffee cup, grabbed my purse, keys and coffee cup and walked to the sliding door, lets go you two come on. I called they came running in and right to the door that lead to the garage, I opened the door, they were circling around my legs and I had to make sure to trip on them, we made it to the car, safely I might add, I opened the door to the black mustang and the dogs took there spot Boo shut gun and Nemo in the back I took my set and backed the car out.
Once on the road, I focused but also was sipping my much to hot tea, when a stupid head pulled right out in front of me, I slammed on the brakes almost sending the dogs through the window, I was not a happy camper but I focused on the road and made it to the road that lead to the stable. I was hopping the Spirit would be in a happy mood and not a jerk for me being late but at least I was going to ride him today. I turned into the stable, the dogs were already getting excited at seeing there friend, alright your two calm down before you hit a button and put the window up on your heads, well it was to late for that warning, next thing I now I hear yelping and the sound like choking. I turned to see Nemos head not in the car.
This was great, I parked the car hit my button and opened the window, just shaking my head. I put all windows up and shut the car off grabbing everything and almost getting run over by two dog, I shut and locked the car and walked into the stable, stopping in the tack room to put my stuff by Spirits tack box and I grabbed his groom box, Saddle, Bridle and saddle pad, nothing was going to stop me from riding today. When I got to Spirits stall I noticed two others, Hey Im Sammie you guys new I have not seen ether of you around. I opened Spirits stall, clipped his lead rope on and lead him out to the cross ties, I clipped him to the cross ties, this guy right here is Spirit, he is being quite nice now so you are more then welcoming to pet him. I set to grooming him all the more listening for one of them to speak.

Skye looked at one of the girls. Annie. He smiled. Don't worry Tnago here wont hurt yall' He nodded to Sammie. Hello Sammie, Annie. I am Skylar, but please call me Skye. He looked at both of them. Then looked to Sammie. You going for a ride? Want to join me and my boy here? He asked. Noticing Annie, who looked not just a little scared. He chuckled. How about you try riding to. How about a ride on my boy here? He wont hurt a fly. He winked and grabbed his bridle slipping the bit into Tango's mouth and pulling it over his head. Doing up the buckles. He lead him out.
He looked to Sammie. I will just be outside the stables okay Sammie? He couldn't believe he was actually having a regular conversation. He looked at Annie. What do you say about a ride? I will warm him up then you can try. It is easy. He housted himself into the saddle. The place he belonged. He walked him around the outside of the stables. Then jogged a bit. Looking to Annie. She looked uncomfortable. He kept jogging around. Tango whinnied. He loved to get out. He looked over to his truck. Sure enough Blanco was there. He smiled. Blanco. Come show these ladie some respect. Blanco ran towards Annie and Sammie. He bowed. It took Skye a while to teach him that. He smiled. Ladies, this is Blanco the trusty lab. He loves anyone. He chuckled and hopped off Tango. He walked towards Annie. So Annie? What do you say. Does he look safe enough? He smiled his flirty, irristable smile.

( A N N A B E L ) Annie observed the horse some more, wondering how wild cave-people how ever many ages ago saw a horse and thought, "Hey, we should try to sit on its back while it runs around!" The cavemen must have been really bored. Or did horseback riding just start recently? Annie honestly had no idea. She was a true newbie.
The stranger reassured her that the monster-horse (monster because of size, not because it looked as crazy as some of the others) wouldn't be able to eat her through the bars of the stall. Well, maybe he didn't say exactly that, but that is how it processed in Annie's brain. Trying to mentally shoo away the thoughts, she turned back to look at the unfamiliar face, then turned quickly around when she heard another voice. Another innocent smile, this one smaller, and she half-mumbled a greeting again. Wow. These people really weren't like the kids in school. Maybe she truly didn't belong here? Had she gotten it all wrong, this riding thing?
Well, it didn't really matter now. Her mom wouldn't pick her up yet if she called; it was too early.
"How about a ride on my boy here? He wont hurt a fly."
Annie opened her lips, about to make some sweet reply, eventually hinting that she'd never ridden before, but he said something else, and she shut her mouth again. Her instinct told her to shut up, but she broke through it. She always did. Straightening her posture, she smiled again, then replied, "Okay," once being told that she was going to be waited for outdoors.
The boy, man, person, Skye, got on his horse, and Annie took a few quick steps backwards, leaning against the now-empty stall, watched in amazement as Skye somehow managed to steer the creature out of the stables. She had to shut her mouth again, because it had opened in shock. She really did have a lot to learn.
Ripping herself away from the scene, she looked again at Sammie. "It's nice to meet you," she said quickly, but she still couldn't bring herself to be too friendly; the girl didn't really look like anyone Annie would hang out with. Bouncing on her toes, Annie raised her eyebrows, motioned with her hand that she was going to be following Skye outside, and walked back out into the open.
Fresh air blew back on Annie, played with her hair until the girl held it still so it wouldn't knot. And there was the horse and his rider, looking proud and tall. How did he do that? Annie wondered in amazement, but she wasn't sure she wanted to find out first-hand. How was she going to avoid getting on that thing's back? She was just about to spill out the perfect excuse, but the dog came running, and she held out her hand. She loved dogs, puppies, and most other small animals. "Aw, is this your puppy? It's so cute," she cooed, then went into the whole you're-so-cute, yes-you-are deal that most adults do with babies, and everyone does with small animals.
Once finished with pouring over the dog, she looked back up at Skye and Tango. "So Annie? What do you say. Does he look safe enough?" Annie chuckled, nervous. Why wasn't she miss-confident? She felt odd, out of her comfort zone.
"Uuuhh.." She hesitated, studied the horse. Then Skye smiled at her, and she couldn't help but feel a bit more like herself, and her stance became a flirty one. Oh, what the heck? "I guess I could give it a try." What should she do now? Carefully, she took a small step forward, towards the huge equine and it's ginourmous head, body, legs, and hooves. But then she turned around, wondering if the other girl had followed her, perhaps with her horse which apparently did not bite.

Alright I met you outside the stable and its nice to meet you Skye. I smiled and went back to grooming, the girl was not comfortable around horses and she seemed not to want to talk to me, whatever that just made her stuck up and it also seemed she judged people to quickly. I dropped the brush back in the box, sprayed him down with fly spray and some good smelling stuff for his coat and I set to getting him tacked, we were not using my two show saddles or my English one we were just using the regular western saddle and bridle which was done up a bit more. I tossed the pad over his back, just as the girl spoke, it nice to meet you to. I smiled and went back to tacking Spirit up who was much eager to get out and stretch his legs.
I slipped his bridle on, tightened the straps, walked him around and then checked to make sure everything was fit and sung and it was, good boy for not puffing out. I pated his neck, mounted and walked outside, whistling for Boo and Nemo, you have a very cute dog not as wound up as my two dogs Boo and Nemo, oh here are the trouble makers, Boo is the aussie and Nemo the border collie, this weekend we are going up to my aunts to move some cattle, wares down the energy. I smiled and walked Spirit around in a circle, just warming up his muscles and then I put him in a jog to get back to the group faster.
We stopped and I rested my arms on the horn of the saddle, hearing that the girl was going to give riding a try on his horse, I was happy for her it might help her fear a bit to actually ride one, I backed Spirit so there would be more room and waited for her to mount the horse, I was at least hoping this would help her fear out, I know you can do it and he is a nice looking horse. I smiled she seemed a bit reluctant but she was going to do it, she could also ask me for help anytime I was a girl who loved to help others and I was really nice once you got to know me, that’s were the saying comes in you can never judge and book by its cover. I smiled and decided to ride down to the end of the stable driveway and come back, im going to ride to the end of the driveway be back this should only take a few.
I squeezed his side and we took of in a canter that was building fast, I felt him pick up a gallop, the dogs were running after us, I knew this would only be a few, we reached the end and I slid him to a stop good thing for dirt, I rolled him back and we cantered back, I patted his neck, you just had to love horses and I surly loved Spirit, such a good boy, I could see the group up ahead and trotted over to them, now that was fun , I laughed and Spirit stopped all on his own, Sorry I love going fast except for I do the sports that don’t really evolve speed but I still love it. I smiled and looked at Skye and the girl which I did not know her name, I sighed and rested my hands on the horn once again, waiting for someone to say something.
Encouraging words!!! lol

Skye looked at Nemo. His heart skipped a beat. He looked to Tango. Then to Blanco. Then back at Nemo. He put his hand out towards Tango. Woah. He said. He walked towards the collie slowly. He patted it's head. Right then his eyes showed everything. The sadness he felt inside him. Then he was about to speak, but Sammie said she was going down the drive way. He turned and watched the stop her horse did. His mind totally forgot about Nemo. As she came back and he absoloutly beamed. Have you ever tryed reining? Your horse can do a pretty good stop. You could have a chance in the novice or juniour division. Really. He smiled up at her.
He looked back to Nemo. Your dog Nemo looks exactly like my old girl. Her name was Blanca though. She was a collie aswell.. He patted the dog again. Then looked to Tango. He just stood there. Hah, reining was good for them. Except it wears out their legs. Which was why he needed a new boy. Tango was starting to get older.. He shook his head taking the thought of his dead dog and his horse not being able to rein anymore out of his head.
He returned to his horse and Annie. He smiled at Annie. Now it's time for you to get up on this saddle. Don't worry Tango here has taught a lot of people. If you want him to stop just say Woah. He will stop dead. He smiled and looked to Annie. Okay, first you grab the front of the saddle. And put your hand on the back lightly. Then you put one foot in the stirrup He pointed to the stirrup. Then you just lift yourself on. If you need help, I will be right here.. He winked. Then moved to Tango's side. He threw the reins over his head. Then waited for Annie to get aboard.

( A N N A B E L ) After hearing the encouragement from the girl, Annie smiled again, weakly, still surprisingly unsure of herself and having trouble holding onto her fake confidence. She watched Sammie ride, again in amazement, and then looked back to Skye. Reflexively, without even thinking about it, she cocked her hip and looked up at him through her eyelashes. She didn't even think he was that cute, never having really talked to someone "country" before, but she was going to flirt a bit anywho. This whole thing would get boring quickly if she didn't.
While Skye talked to Sammie again as she came back, Annie looked over the towering steed. What was she going to do after she got up there, way up high in that saddle? Well, again, she was being over dramatic about the height and such -- she shouldn't be that scared; she'd done worse -- but it looked scary nonetheless.
"Now it's time for you to get up on this saddle. Don't worry; Tango here has taught a lot of people."
Had he really? Annie couldn't picture that. Then again, she could picture it more easily than she could picture the horse that had given her a dirty look teaching some newbie how to ride. How was she gonna hoist herself up there, though? Oh, he was telling her! She really needed to pay better attention.
Trying to focus a bit more, Annie listened, not speaking yet but smiling sweetly, yet slightly hesitantly due to the situation. Then she tried to obey: put her hand on the tall stick-thing that was stuck on the front of the saddle, then to the back part that jutted up from the leather. Glancing back at her instructor of sorts, she followed his motioning and looked down at the stirrup -- yeah, that's what he had called it. So she was suppose to put her foot in there, and just throw herself up on top. How was she suppose to do that? She wasn't nearly strong enough, she thought. And wouldn't the horse just start running or something? "Okay," she agreed anyways, and nodded. Skye sounded like he knew what he was doing.
On a smart streak, she looked over at Sammie, checked to see which foot was in which stirrup, and how she could fit that in with getting on this stallion. Then she looked back at the leather, slipped her foot in, and took a deep breathe, trying to stay calm. She was a confident leader. She was. Right. Okay.
Concentrating on both keeping her face controlled and not falling over, Annie pushed her leg down and tried to push the rest of her up. She got a foot or so off the ground, and then her hands flailed and flew over to the other side of the saddle so she gripped the opposite edge. But now she was sort of stuck, half-flung over the saddle. And shit, she probably looked kinda dumb, too. "Crap. Erft. Uh, help, please?" She squirmed, but didn't let go of the edge of the leather, only looked down at Skye so she could smile in a pathetic manner. Ha. He would probably have to push her butt to help her, now. Ha ha. She turned back and tried to get push her upper body so she wasn't just hanging there.
