Melissa Marie Kenneth Cause were tied together, with a smile; thats coming undone._____________________________ Footsteps, the soft patter of the bottom of her flip flops echoed in the long isle of the beautiful barn. The sweet smell of hay and grain enveloped her nostrils and the sound of the gentle equines in their stalls nawing and chewing on their hay with a soft snort or whinny coming from their nares and kissers. Oh, how just a day without these familar sights and smells would be utter torture to her. A delicate manicured hand drew towards an adorable bay pony in the stall near her. Its petite head peaked out over its dutch stall door, she smiled raising her fingertips to run along the ponies bridge before playing with its long onyx mane with the tips of her fingers.
Her hand drew back as her boots kept walking forward down the isle, it was a nice barn a little dusty but who could help that? The stable hands worked day and night trying to keep the barn at top notch like it is now. She sighed as she pulled a strand of her curled blonde hair behind her ear, teasing a strand with her fingertip as she walked down the isle, reading the name plates and admiring the handsome horses and ponies. She couldn't wait till Tick was here, her big boy that she loved.
He wasn't here now but hopefully her mother would be here soon to drop him off and she was anxious to see him. It had been atleast three days without seeing his handsome dappled grey features staring out at her through his stall door or goofing off in the ring playing around. A grey face peered out over its stall door, its ebon orbs peeking out and looking towards her with perked auds. Mel's chocolate eyes grew excited at the almost exact look of her beloved ticket she scurried towards the handsome grey in the stall only to be disapointed as the name plate didn't say the one she knew so well.
"I guess your not Ticket are you?" she said with a laugh as she put out her palm to let the grey sniff her with its nares a soft snort releasing from its nares as its dark orbs looked towards her soft and calm unlike the wild excited eyes she was used to in Ticket's. She smiled looking at the stable card beside the stall door, leaning so she could read it with a smirk. "Your deffinately not Ticket are you pretty girl?" She ran her hand along the mares features, she dropped her hand to her side pulling out her cellphone from her back jean pocket before she walked down the isle towards the middle stalls where she saw the name plate of "Ticket to Heaven" in view.
Its stall empty as she peered in and open the stall door, two shavings bags sat infront of the door written on it in black sharpie was Melissa/Ticket a green pitchfork beside them. Grabbing one of the bags and carrying it into the large stall dumping it out before doing the same with the other. The pitchfork spread out the shavings before she excited the stall and threw away the bags bring the pitchfork along as she found the trash barrel and the storage area. This was going to be something to get used to.

( C H A R L O T T E ) A soft tapping sound could be heard as she walked across the yard, heading towards the barn. Charlotte sighed, brushing away a pestering strand of hair away from her face. She hadn't exactly been planning to visit the stables today; as anyone could tell from her outfit. Skinny jeans trapped her legs in their denim prison and bright yellow legwarmers protected her legs from the cold wind that was blowing. Her shoes were her usual converse ones with the bright yellow laces in today. On her upper half she was wearing a white striped shirt, the top three buttons unbuttoned to reveal a simple white t-shirt underneath. Covering that was a black waistcoat, flying around in the breeze. Her chocolate brown eyes were hidden by a pair of white sunglasses. Anyway, to get back to the matter at hand, apparently her grey mare had escaped and got into the feed store. Typical of Dream; she was a high-spirited thing and got bored quite quickly if left in her stall. Thankfully a stable hand had managd to coax her back into her stall but she still had to go down and clean up. This had ruined her plans to go into town and get some shopping done.
Charlotte pushed open the doors and walked into the barn. She was in no hurry to get to cleaning up - That would be the day! She paused beside the stall of Debby; a tiny shetland mare. Debby reached up with her muzzle anxiously, trying to get her nares above the lower half of the dutch door. With a smile the sixteen year old stroked the old paints' nose fondly. She had put things off for too long now. Charlotte continued to walk down the aisle, until a familiar face appeared. She couldn't help but smile as she saw Dream. Dream was a beautiful Arabian five year old and she was her pride and joy. Even though she was immensely annoyed with the girl, Charlotte's heart still leapt when Dream nosed her gently. "You really know how to get outta trouble, girl," she breathed as she gently patted her horse's muzzle. The mare snorted, pulling away as was typical of her. Time to get to work, sadly.
Ignoring Dream, Charlotte walked down the aisle towards the feed store and general storage area with a trash can. The female stopped suddenly as she noticed someone else there. She'd thought the place was empty; beside her and the horses, of course. The other girl was blonde and she was carrying a green pitchfork. "Hey. I'm Charlotte but I prefer Charli. Are you new here?" she said, her tone light and friendly as she looked around dismally at the mess. The whole area was covered in scattered pony nuts and hay and she was sure she could see a huge pile of oats beside the spare hay bales. "Thanks a lot, Dream..." she muttered. She was not going to enjoy this. "And sorry about the mess; it's not always like this. My horse got out and... well-" she cut off, gesturing at the feed strewn out everywhere. Charlotte tried to smile despite her predicament. word count;; 527 muse;; high. music;; lines, vines and trying times. comments;; pretty rubbish, if i do say so myself. gah, jsut can't get into it today. for;; maggie with mel. MELISSA.MARIE.KENNETHI don't know which way I should turn, I'm too afraid of getting burned. When all the wells have come up dry, its hard to take another try. x x The sound of wheels crunching upon gravel came from outside the barn, excitement grew as the squeaking of the what sounded like a trailer and truck pulling in made Mel hurry along cleaning up. She set down the pitchfork near the others and scurried out of the storage room almost colliding with another girl, taller than she perhaps maybe a year or two older. "Oh! I'm sorry," she apologized as she backed up to give the other girl room. Hey. I'm Charlotte but I prefer Charli. Are you new here? The other girl greeted and Melissa nodded her head, "Nice to meet you charli, I'm Melissa you can call me mel though and yeah I'm new." She said with a quick smile anxiousness coming over her as she heard the trailer outside park.
And sorry about the mess; it's not always like this. My horse got out and... well- She apologized and Melissa smiled lightly waving her hand "don't worry bout it, I'm not here to be a critic" she replied with a laugh looking around at the grain and hay cluttering the storage area, she hadn't really paid much attention to it at first oh well it wasn't that bad. Footsteps sounded down the hall as a unfamilar woman showed up behind Charli " excuse me are one of you Melissa Kenneth?" The womens voice sounded behind the two, her voice sort of between a smokers and a young womens. "I am," Melissa raised her hand with a small wave and a smile.
"Oh well I have your horse out here, would you like me to unload him or you?" The women said a tone that wasn't exactly the friendliest but what ever she had ticket and that made Melissa's day already. "No its okay I'll get him," she replied as she tucked a strand of one of her blonde locks behind her ear. Luckily she had brought all her riding gear and tack the day before when she had arrived so she wouldn't have to unload it all now. "Will you excuse me for a minute? I have to go get my horse," she said with an apologetic smile before hurriedly following the raspy woman to the truck and trailer.
A deep nicker arose from the trailer as a man opened the side door letting a handsome dappled grey look out it his features looking around with excitement as his auds pricked excitedly. "Ticket!" She called as she scurried over towards the trailer door taking the lead rope from the man as he handed it to her and began to unbolt the back ramp. The grey nickered to her his nares flaring as he took in her scent and rubbed his noble features upon her, she smiled rubbing his forehead as she unclipped his halter from the lead rope on the trailer and hooked hers to his leather engraved halter.
"Do you have him miss?" The man called as he unbolted the but bumper, "yeah" she called as she unbolted the front bumber and held him firmly until the ramp was down and they were free too back up. Prancy as always when being on a trailer for a while Ticket raced down the ramp having Melissa run after him she murmed to him calming him down as the man began to take off his shipping boots and head bumber on his halter. "Thank you," Melissa replied as the man handed her his shipping boots and head bumper. "No problem miss, we'll be off now." The man replied as he shut the trailer up and in a flash they were gone.
"That was wicked fast." She murmed to Ticket as the grey pranced energy overwhelming him as he snorted loudly and nickered letting everyone know he was here, "Shush you big lug, quiet down." she said with a laugh patting his neck before picking up his shipping boots and leading the gelding inside where she spotted Charli. "Sorry bout that, they were quick" she laughed as she walked Ticket over towards his stall setting his shipping boots near where the bags had been a couple minutes ago and leading him into the stall. His head lowered as she slid his halter off and patted his shoulder walking out and closing the dutch door behind her. He had already found his hay and took a snag of it leading his head over the door and making sure he had covered Melissa's hair in hay before snorted loudly on her.
