I Just Saw Hailey's Comet, She Waved Said, "Why You Always Runnin' In Place? Boots thumped lightly against the the dirt ground, a small jingling sound quickly to follow. He was tall, blonde, wearing jeans and a white T-Shirt, and an emotionless and bored expression on his face. Most might call it worried, though. A small Sheltie jogged beside him, it's fur colors still brown and white white shades of black coming in, as if it weren't that old at all. The boy sigh as he made a quick turn, wood rising all around him. He couldn't help but pause for a moment, looking around as the Sheltie went ahead in curiosity, lowering his cranium to sniff the empty stall infront of him. The boy sighed, rolling his eyes as he stepped foward, following with the stride of some tall man. Each stall looked the same, a few heads popping out at him to great him.
So this was the stallion's barn, huh? he thought to him self, his eyes wandering quickly around the dusty ol' place. And then he heard it: a faint, welcoming whinney. The dog barked, lurching forward quickly towards a stall. The boy smiled as he stopped, looking towards a horse's head that stuck out of it's stall, both ears pricked as he stared willing at his owner. The boy chuckled, finally walking foward and stopping at the stall door.
"Hey there, boy," he said in a low voice, patting the horse's head as he nodded, as if saying hello, too. The dog stood next to the door diligently, then gave a loud bark. "Shh, Rex!" the boy said. Slowly his hand went towards the latch, opening the door. It went open in a loud creaking sound, making the boy flintch for a minute. The horse snickered loudly, nodding once more. "Hey, Spite," Kc laughed as the horse stepped forward, the boy's hand landing on his head once more. "Ready to get praticing?"

Melena Estrella oh, nice guys finish L A S T, when you run out of gas !! Melena was a morning person. She wasn't the kind to get up well before the sun, but she did enjoy being awake before most people her age without a "real job."
She'd been out of the house this morning at around six, and she was full of energy to pack work into every inch of her new day. Maybe she'd work with some of the training horses. Maybe she would clean out the tackroom, which was surprisingly dirty already. Maybe she'd run a mile. Hyper, random Melena. She was smiling when she hopped out of her truck, and even when she walked into the barn.
The last few days, she'd spent a lot of time bubbling with pride. Her stables already had quite a few borders. It was enough to give her a heart attack, in a good way. It was like every dream she had ever had was coming true. Maybe tomorrow she'd meet her Fairy Godmother and finally get to go to Prince Charming's ball.
The pride came back again today, and she bounced on her toes before striding down the hall, back towards where her horses were. Who would she ride today? Maybe Bow. She didn't really need any help, but she sounded like a good horse to warm up on. It'd been a while since Melena had galloped on the mare...
Just as she was about to skip further to the left, set with riding her Arabian for a few hours before starting the real work, she noticed a new face. Eyebrows raced with delight and curiosity, she changed her course, slowing down and backing up a bit. A few steps later, she was by the stall of a horse that she didn't know, either.
"Good morning!" she greeted the stranger happily. Too friendly. Oh, well. She relaxed her bright face a bit so she wouldn't intimidate anyone with her boiling-over joy. That seemed to happen a lot. Noticing the four-legged friend next to the boy, she added, "Cute dog." Turning back up, she grinned again. Did he know she was the owner of the stables? Was he planning on riding? Maybe they could ride together! That sounded fun.

"Hm?"
How long had that girl been there before she had decided to say something to him. Kc turned slowly, his eyes weary as he looked her over. He hadn't seen another person since he had entered the barn yard. Was she a stable hand? He remembered some man telling her that the owner was his daughter; something about the farm being shut down a long time back. Like he cared, though. He didn't like people too well. Yeah, he defintanly didn't like other people too well. But he had to live with the fact that he wasn't alone in this world, right?
He sighed, turning with the smile. The large stallion snorted, both ears perked as if he were expecting a greeting of some sort. A treat, possibly. The small Sheltie had moved away from his large freind, and was already staring at the girl castiously. Though he was wagging his tail slightly, as if trying to decide weather to like her or not.
"Hello, um, good morning," he nodded slightly, moving out of the way to close the stable door. He didn't want any stallions loose on the farm right now. "And thanks," he said again. "Got 'em a few months ago, to keep my horse company." Spite snorted, nodding his head slightly, as if saying his owner had made the right choice.

Melena Estrella oh, nice guys finish L A S T, when you run out of gas !! Melena nodded, then looked down at the canine. She was a bit more of a cat person; dogs had always seemed scary to her when she was young. Probably because she'd been bitten by a fairly large one, years ago, while at a family member's house. Now she wasn't scared of dogs; the scar on her hand had actually faded. But she still preferred to have cats and kittens around instead. In fact, she had a kitten that she'd found roaming the stables a few months ago at home, and she planned on bringing it to back to be a barn cat once it got bigger and less mischievous.
Leaning over so she was a bit lower to the ground, she offered her hand for the dog to sniff, anyways, replying, "You're welcome," softly as she did so.
Straightening back up, she turned to look at the horse that this dog was suppose to be friends with, then smiled as he nodded. She often found herself wondering if all horses secretly spoke fluent human-language (according to the country they lived in, of course), in the pastures when humans were away. She'd read Animal Farm and other such books one too many times. And then again, she also sometimes caught herself imagining horses taking over a stables.
"That's cool," she finally said, and bounced on her toes again, though not quite as excited as before. This person didn't really seem like he wanted her around. Or maybe Melena was just imagining things. She must just be imaging things. Had she gotten as much sleep as she thought she had? She'd worry about that later. "Are you going riding then? It's nice out." As if the stranger hadn't walked outside yet today. Sometimes it was easiest to state the obvious in order to start a conversation, though, Melena had discovered a while ago.
Whoops, she'd forgotten about saying her name. "Oh, and I'm Melena, by the way." She smiled again, friendlily.

Jez's lower lip jutted out a bit and she halted, stomping her foot in annoyance. Her first day, and she was lost. Dash, her Anglo-Arab flinched, head going straight up. Jez sighed, stroking the mare's neck and calming her down. A bubbly border colliesat at her side, looking faithfully at her companions. Erin was adorable. one ear always stood straight, while the other had a flop in it. Looking at Jez, she tipped her head to the side. For a pup of one and a half, she was trained flawlessly. Erin had a white chest, and a tawny snip on her muzzle, one eye like ice, the other grey. Tilting her head to the other side, she stood up, staying at Jez's heel without any command what-so-ever. Jez led Dash down the hall, and the mare followed nicely. She was a good height, sixteen hands high. Jez walked faster, stride fine for Dash, but making Erin trot beside her, little white paws racing over the ground. Spotting a girl and a guy, she turned, looking utterly lost and frustrated. "Um...Hi...?" She said softly, blinking. Erin took one look at the bigger dog, and side stepped, sitting on Jez's heel. Dash's ears twitched as she listened in.

He shrugged. He didn't plan on going on any trail rides today. Let alone with any girl who probably did drugs and had a few peircings to show. But why make a fued out of it? Hell, he had better days than today, right? Though, being new around here wasn't as bad as actualy owning the place. From what he'd heard, this place was almost run outta town once before. Yeah, that sounds like a great place to have trail rides....
"Uh, Kc Smith," he said with a light chuckle. Her name rung a bell. Was she thet stable owner, or just the stable owner's daughter? He was slightly confused. "And actu-" He was cut off by some girl who practicaly bardged over with a mare and a Border Collie. Rex instantly jumped up, giving a warning growl to the other dog, his ears and tail sticking up. Spite, on the other hand, gave a small whinny to the mare, as if saying hello. "Um, hello?" Kc said confusingly. He was getting slightyl tired of this, so he couldn't but sigh and quickly unlatch the stall door, his hand latching onto the horse's halter. The horse nickered, though it didn't seem too pleased that it was going so soon. "If you don't mind too well," Kc began, "Spite and I kinda have to go outside."
He wasn't being rude; he just had to train.
