Frequently Asked Questions
GENERAL SITE QUESTIONS
Q: How can I become a staff member?
A: Wait to be asked or for an audition to role around, unless you have a specific idea for the site that might require you becoming staff. Then you can just PM a staff member and tell them about it.
Q: Does Song of the Century have a money system?
A: Nope! We're counting on you just being realistic. If there is ever a problem with someone not being realistic and such, though, Staff will fix it ay-sap.
HORSE, LESSON, AND RIDING QUESTIONS
Q: How can my character get a horse?
A: The easiest way for your character to get a horse is to create an original one in the horse files.
Q: Are there restrictions on creating horses?
A: Yes, there are. You have to be realistic. Your poor stablehand is not going to be able to afford a champion jumper. And no character can have anymore than five horses, while you can only create one original horse, with riding instructors and trainers being an exception.
Q: Well, then, how else can I get a horse?
A: You can win a horse as a prize at a competition, or you can send a PM to the staff account requesting two horses from Riverglass Ranch be bred -- to do this, both horse owners must have agreed, and both horses have to be over the age of three. Once the PM is received, the bio of the foal will be created by a member of the staff team and sent back to the mare's owner, and the birth can be roleplayed out if you want. Then, you have a foal!
Q: How can I get a lesson with my character or have a horse trained?
A: It's time for you to call a trainer! Well, PM them, actually. Just look at the Trainer List, see who you'd like, and PM them if they're available, requesting whatever it is you want. Then, you can roleplay a thread (or perhaps more) with a lesson or training session. Another way you can have a lesson is if there is an open lesson thread being held by a trainer.
Q: Can my character ride a horse that isn't there's, either just for a normal ride or at a show?
A: Yes, but you must have permission from the owner. This has to be worked out OOC. If you want to ride one of the public horses, see the Ranch Horse thread and sign up!
Q: How can my character become a trainer?
A: After you're accepted, PM the admin account and ask permission to become a trainer. Include information about what kind of training your character would do so I or another staff member can add your character to the trainer list.
