Full Name: charlotte leigh denver - prefers sharli. also called charli or charlotte. Age: sixteen Gender: female Riding Level: intermediate Appearance:
Starting with the basics, Charlotte is pretty tall. Throughout her life teachers and other adults have commented on her height - it is 5'9", if you must know. Usually she walks or stands with a slight slouch so that she doesn't seem as tall but she is constantly trying to remind herself to stand up straight. This height helps but hinders her too. Pros include being able to intimidate younger people, looking older and just having that added confidence that comes from being tall. However, cons include being teased about it, easily tripping over small people and getting 'looks' from curious people. Weight is no problem for her - it has always been a steady, healthy weight so we don't need to delve into that part of her too much.
Charlotte's hair is a chestnut brown with hints of ginger. Up until a few years ago she never bothered with her hair - now she must have it looking near perfect. She either straightens or curls it, sometimes adding headbands, big clips or hats to its natural state. Her hair goes a little way down her back, about four or five inches below her shoulders. There isn't too much more to say about her hair so lets move on.
Now, her eyes are a rather sensitive matter to her. From being nine to thirteen she wore glasses but then - at last - she got contact lenses. So now everyone can see her eyes clearly. Oh, and what beautiful eyes! They are a lovely hazel brown colour with dashes of aqua hidden amongst the depths. Sometimes she outlines her eyes with a little eyeliner but never too much so it seems trashy.
Voice. It doesn't seem that important but Charlotte's voice definitely differs from most of the other people around here. Charlotte is not American. She is English. After living in England basically all her life she has a very assured British accent. Now, she sometimes gets looks flashed her way when she speaks, as people are surprised to hear such a raw, pure accent different to their own. It is unlikely that her accent will 'wear off' so she is most likely stuck with it for the rest of her life.
Charlotte's style isn't designer by any means. Usually she just wears skinny jeans teamed with a motifed t-shirt. When around the stable she wears jods, boots and another t-shirt. Not much difference, eh? Anyway, she tries to keep up with the fashions but isn't the type to go buy a brand new outfit the moment it is in. The number one rule when clothes shopping: Nothing pink. Pink is the number one worst colour, according to her.
General Personality:
On the outside she appears to be a quietly confident girl, not at all like those 'out there', loud types that always seem to be shouting. Secretly she wishes that she could be more confident - to get her opinions across without worrying about what anyone thinks but something always holds her back. A little voice in the back of her mind says "What if you get in trouble? What will your parents think then?" and that keeps her mouth shut. Charlotte isn't outragously popular. Back home, she had her own group of special friends but she got on with just about everyone else. She finds it easy to fit in with boys as she has some tom-boyish qualities about her. These include the fact that she will happily get herself into danger, that she doesn't need high heels and handbags to make her happy and quite simply, she hates pink.
Charlotte is a very adaptable person; she can fit herself into new situations quite quickly and successfully. She can also tell if someone is a good person to hang around with or if she should steer clear of them. Of course, her judgement is sometimes wrong. Charlotte is good at justifying the reasons she did something for.
Charlotte has a good sense of humour although it sometimes comes off as sarcastic or rude. She also has that leader streak that some people just have. If in a group she will effectively take charge, arranging people and putting across her ideas. Sometimes she realises that she is taking over and will offer to listen to someone elses idea or let them do some of the work. Charlotte is very determined - she wants to see things through to the end. Sometimes that comes of as stubborness though - indeed, once she has an idea fixed in her mind, little can change it unless there is a good reason to.
A lateral thinker, she thinks outside the box quite often. Thus she suceeds at riddles and things like that. Now, onto skills. Charlotte has always been a writer and quite often her teachers praised her. (Another thing - she hates being praised publicly as it seriously embarrasses her.) Very often she will come up with new ideas for a story or song when out riding. Charlotte enjoys singing, although she isn't sure if she is good or not, and also writes lots of songs. (She has an 'audio' memory which means she remembers things she hears, like facts or songs, better than anything else.)
Ridingwise, she has been riding for a little over three years, which has influenced her life in many ways. Although she passionately loved all animals before taking up riding, horses began to take top priority. To this day she is constantly finding out facts about horses to lock in her mind. Also, riding has helped her get out more often and take in the beauty of nature. Sometimes she just sits there, watching a bee feed on a beautiful rose, and marvelling at the sight.
It's now time for things that could be described as negative about her. Charlotte can get emotional quite easily and was once called a 'cry-baby' in one of her last schools. Emotionwise, she is quite cutting with words when she is angry. Witty insults fly out of her mouth before she can stop them and they often cause lots of trouble and flying sparks. Also she is very opinionated - she believes that she is right and everyone else is wrong.
History: Charlotte Leigh Denver was born on October 3rd 1992 at 6:08am in a hospital in North London. Her parents, Eddy and Tanya, looked after her with the upmost care; they gave her everything she needed to have a happy childhood. By the time she was 5, Charlotte had moved house three times to various places in London. Charlotte managed to fit in everywhere until the fourth school.
At age nine Charlotte got her glasses. And it was a time of hell for her. The people at school started to tease her, calling her 'specky four-eyes' and other cruel names. This continued until the end of year six when she started secondary/middle school in another area. She managed to survive until age thirteen when she got her contact lenses and discovered the local riding stables, Willow Farm Livery.
The stables were introduced to her when she was out, supposed to be meeting up with a friend in the park. Someone was riding in the courtyard upno a beautiful white Arabian. That sparked her love of horses. Charlotte began to take riding lessons, helpnig muck out in exchange for a free weekly lesson. Eventually, aged fifteen she got her horse, Radcliffe Demon.
Then her father got a job in America. It was a wonderful oppurtunity, he said. So the whole family moved. Charlotte had to leave Demon behind which broke her heart. When her mother promised to get her a new horse, she finally decided to go. 9 hours later they had arrived in Guineaville, a little country town in the middle of nowhere. On the very first day she discovered Riverglass Ranch, just a few roads away from her house.
After living here for only a few weeks, she is slowly getting used to it. And she has just got her new horse, Illusion's Dream.
